The aim of the program is to educate specialists for practical public health management activities, research, pedagogical work, and/or public health doctoral studies. The program is intended for graduates already holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree, who are seeking to broaden their understanding and knowledge in the field of health care management. The program combines intensive, focused coursework with field experience – providing students the opportunity to integrate their academic training with real-world public health practice.

Course Objective

  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge in the public health sub‐disciplines of biostatistics, epidemiology, health systems and public policy, social and behavioral sciences, and environmental health.
  • Explain the interrelationships between a multitudes of factors that can impact on a public health problem.
  • Review, critique, and evaluate public health reports and research publications.
  • Apply public health concepts, principles, and methodologies obtained through formal course work to actual problems experienced in the community or work environment.

Entry Requirements

You must have completed an undergraduate degree in a health-related discipline such as dentistry, health sciences, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology, public health, or social work and Social Sciences. Your study must have been at a recognized university (or similar institution).

Practitioners in the field strive to improve the economic, social, and environmental health of communities, as well, by focusing on a broad range of public health issues. Graduates with a public health qualification may find employment in diverse areas within the health sector and are specialties in public health research domain.
